Victoria has spent the bulk of the £250 she won from the St Barnabas House Lottery towards organising a raffle to raise more money for the charity.
Victoria, from Worthing, said: “My husband’s grandmother passed away not long ago, and she was in St Barnabas for a few days towards the end. And then I went there with Heene Primary School – I work there as a teacher’s assistant – and I was really blown away. That visit made me realise how much it cost to run each year, and how it was all charity-funded. It’s such an important thing for us all to have. This has always been our charity of choice.”
“We had a little bit of money left over from our win, and we were going to treat ourselves. But instead that has been spent on an unexpected vet’s bill for our pet dog, Ted. So actually the money came at a very nice time.”
